FAQ

u

What if I can’t swim?

NO problem. We have lifejackets in various styles and sizes to accommodate all our guests. Our goal is to keep you safe and happy on the boat, but we are trained for man-overboard rescue if needed.

u

What if I get seasick?

We want an enjoyable experience for your sailing session, and will offer options that may help, but if you are not able to continue the session we will fire up the outboard and get you back on land.

u

Can we stop for swimming?

Unfortunately no. This sailboat is not equipped with a fixed swim platform or heavy duty ladder, so for safety we must refrain from swimming activity during the sailing session. Also, the sails would need to be dropped and an anchor set to secure our position. We do encourage relaxing with feet in the water over the side while sailing, if you would like to partake.

u

Where do I park?

This is a high traffic area in summer on the Pier. Depending on our session boarding time and the volume of traffic, you may prefer to park across the street behind Murphy’s Law or next to Scoops ice cream and walk down the Pier to the boat on the sidewalk. Driving down the Pier and getting back to the main drag on Lakeshore Drive can sometimes be a lengthy wait in a line of too many cars and not enough pavement.

u

Will I need sunscreen?

YES sunscreen is advised, please apply your sunscreen prior to boarding if possible, to decrease chances of overspray onto boat surfaces that may be hazardous when wet.

u

If the wind is too strong, can it tip us over?

NO, not in this boat with 1000 lbs lead keel, on this small lake. We are perfectly safe even when heeling (normal partial tipping) and we may request repositioning onboard to balance the boat routinely.

u

What if I need a restroom?

Before boarding we encourage all guests to stop at the nearby restroom at the pier if needed, but also have a port-a-potty aboard if needed. Sanitary wipes available for hand cleansing.

u

Is this activity safe for me if I am unable to walk unassisted?

YES, we can accommodate 1 guest per session who may need additional assistance and seating in a location that would not require repositioning.

u

What if I need to cancel my reservation?

Full refund of reservation monies will be applied to method of payment for cancellations with minimum 2 days (48 hours) notice by phone or text. Weather changes may warrant us to reschedule for safety. If we have to reschedule you will receive 100% refund of monies paid.

u

What should I wear?

Be comfortable, this is a working sailboat, and seating is on the deck and cockpit area. Short tight skirts, long flowy dresses or heeled shoes don’t work well. Sneakers and shorts, or comfy pants works best.  A secured hat is recommended, if you choose to wear a hat. Sunglasses are highly recommended due to sun glare/reflected off water.

Any questions not listed are welcome for personal discussion when scheduling your reservation or on the day prior to your sail when I confirm boarding time and weather conditions expected.
